I think our state legislature might have its priorities misplaced jetting off to Israel in the middle of a session in which a desperate GOP majority is trying to pass a last hurrah of terrible legislation and we are facing a $1.7 Billion deficit here at home. I also question the utility and balance of a first-hand look at the Gaza crisis if the lawmakers are only going to Israel. They are hardly going to get any sort of objective view of the matter this way. If they were headed into Gaza to see the dire humanitarian crisis for themselves, that could be valuable, but visiting Israel merely to be propagandized in the Israeli perspective is, in my view, not a good use of valuable and limited session time. This seems like a vanity project and not of any utility to the state of Arizona.
