I would really like to see some data on the extent to which hedge funds, corporations, landlords, house flippers, and vacation rentals limit housing supply and drive up prices of single family homes and rental properties.
It would also be nice to see a comparison of how much different building codes and zoning regulations add to construction costs compared with similar areas in the country.
I’m certainly not here to defend Sinema’s spending on private planes, but the comparison to Kelly isn’t an entirely fair one. I was tasked with showing him a few things on a visit to Flagstaff during his first mini-term and he had a hard stop at 1730 that day because he had flown himself up from Tucson in his personal plane and had to leave in time to get home under visual flight rules, so his private flight costs are surely a lot less though I don’t know the GSA per diem for a plane compared to the $0.655/mile for a car.
