One big difference this year is that folks who were sent mail ballots did not have to vote provisional ballots if they decided to vote in Election Day. So there are many fewer provisional ballots to count than in previous years. Folks still had to vote provisional ballots if the poll book showed their mail ballot had been verified. And that suggests they attempted to vote twice . . . Folks erroneously believe they can vote again if they change their minds but state law says the first ballot received is the one that counts.
Also we have an intense ballot “cure” drive going on right now. If the county doesn’t recognize your signature, you can confirm it’s your ballot within five days. Sadly if you failed to sign the envelope, you only have until 7 pm Election Day to sign it. Imagine how much worse this cure process will be if the GOP expanded voter ID referendum passes.
So many of races are so close that this will go on forever. The new 1/2 percent recount law will take us into December. Bless the people doing the hard work processing the ballots. Someone one please, stop Lake from her mean girl vitriol. I can not take the nasty (or that voice) remarks anymore. She’s Trump in drag.
Buying that owl probably seemed like a good idea at the time. I know I have stuff that seemed like a good idea after a few too many drinks....years ago....

I don't think having the results a few days earlier is good enough justification for making voting more difficult
