OK. Good for him agreeing to the interview. But I still feel like I need a shower after reading it. That scene from National Lampoon Vacation with Eugene Levy's car salesman kept running through my head:

"I'm just as upset as you are, believe me. Davenport! Get Mr. Griswald's car back and bring it back here! Now I can get you the wagon, there's not problem there. The problem is that it might take six weeks. Now, I owe it to myself to tell you that if you're taking the whole tribe cross-country, the Wagon Queen Family Truckster... You think you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it."

I have to agree. I don’t know what to make of Mr. Wick. Loved the analogy.😂

Newsrooms operate on the expense side of the ledger. They don’t generate income directly. Instead, they bring eyeballs and engagement to ads and subscriptions that generate the revenue.

Advertising is what changed for newspapers (starting with CraigsList), not news consumption.

So, news organizations have to find alternative revenue sources to sustain their newsrooms. That means constantly re-thinking and tinkering with the business model including selling content directly to readers (The Agenda model) and even buying civic events (the Bisbee 1000).
