With all the misery in the world it's nice to see the Diamondbacks thump the Dodgers in 3 straight and advance to the NLCS. Now, give us back our original team colors.
I'm actually pretty sure that the new JLBC projections don't even include the potential shortfall caused by ESA vouchers. So we are looking at a $400M deficit plus another $300M on top of that just from vouchers
Yeah that doesn’t include any spending revisions. So if esas continue to climb, so will the shortfall (tho there’s some hope that public school enrollment numbers will drop and that’ll take a chunk out of the expense - but a lot of these new esa kids were already private/homeschool).
But rn esas are barely over budget (like $40m ish) but like 500m or whatever was already allocated. It’s the increase from here on out that’s not accounted for, if that makes sense.
Great job, especially reporting on the budget - very balanced, and you are right, plenty of blame to go around! As for Biggs, I occasionally worked with him in the state legislature (as a technical advisor on economic development related legislation), and he has not changed at all - zero interest in what is good for the state, his constituents, or anyone other than himself (and, sadly, Eli Crane seems to be following him down the rabbit hole). Keep up the good work!
Trickle down economy - Einstein's definition of insanity
Happy Belated Birthday Hank!
I never understood trickle-down economics until I became old and incontinent. Happy birthday Hank!

Happy belated birthday Hank! Yesterday was my birthday too, and I didn't hear from you either...
This is why I subscribe. Thanks for a great summary.
