While I'm not a Southern Arizona person, I applaud this expansion! As you point out, local journalism is suffering, and this is true both here and around the country. Without initiatives like yours, our communities' comprehension of critical issues in our state will decline. Bravo!
Great news! There are a lot of stories down here that are never covered by the mainstream media, and just because Democrats control this city doesn't mean there's no drama.
This is so exciting! I lived in Tucson for 13 years and most of work, and my heart, is still there. This is especially timely with the recent AZ Daily Star cuts. Looking forward to following along.
I'm totally excited about this! We will have three new media news enterprises focused on Tucson, the Sentinel, The AZ Luminaria, and now Tucson Agenda! This is great news and I have subscribes and will boost as much as possible. Thanks for bringing real journalism by local journalists back to Tucson.
Whine of the day. Over the past few years I have increased the number of subscriptions I have to several enewsletters-mostly substack homed. All worth it. I want to financially support the peeps doing the hard work of putting out news so ya'll can pay your bills and lay on the beach once in awhile sipping drinkies and eating bon-bons, and I want to support this emerging form of journalism. However I'm bumping up to $400 a year for news, on top of traditional subs. Jeez it is getting financially tougher. My suggestion is that you have consider having a low income/fixed income rate for both the AA and the TA. (I often use your/their info-attributed-in my 6 yer old free enewsletter [bisbeewire.com] that is focused on the Bisbee economy/politics, but has a range of info about Cochise County, the State, the Nation. I really don't want to start charging either cause that entails a different level of processing bucks that I want to avoid if at all possible. Not your problem for sure, but factors into buying new subs.)
I’m happy to see two more talented journalists embarking on an enterprise that utilizes their knowledge and skills to benefit the Tucson area.
I’d love to contribute to its launch, but as someone who spent most of his career working in public media, I don’t have a thousand bucks just sitting around. Wish I could contribute a smaller amount. Any chance you’ll take donations substantially smaller than $1k?
Arizona Agenda, now Tucson Agenda.... If there was a need to split Tucson off to its own, shouldn't you be doing the same with Phoenix? I always thought the news stories were about ALL of the state, but did someone think it was Phoenix, Phoenix, Phoenix? Is there going to be a Greater Phoenix Agenda?

When you have grown into a media empire with newsletters based on towns across the country, remember all the little people ... ;)

WooHoo! As someone who is finally back in Tucson (after a long exile in Scottsdale) this is great news! I’ve subscribed and shared.

I don't live in Tucson but I believe in you and went ahead and subscribed. Good luck!
Welcome to the neighborhood
Welcome to Tucson, and to your amazing reporters, Caitlin and Curt. So excited for this expansion!
