Praying for the day when AZ GOP voters wake up and recognize that TPUSA is a grift, from top to bottom, and has done nothing positive for the AZ GOP - and, rather, has amassed a list of failures that should disqualify them from further say in our political process. The following are some highlights:
1/ I first became aware of them in 2020, when they led the charge to exhort AZGOP voters not to vote by mail - likely the principal factor leading to Trump’s loss in AZ.
2/ In what I could only read as an attempt to cover up their gross negligence, TPUSA then led the charge to promote false election denial claims, besmirching the reputations and careers of some of the finest and most honest GOP politicians I’ve had the honor to work with (starting with governor Doug Ducey) while promoting genuinely despicable characters who were (and are) also willing to lie in order to generate clicks and continue the grift.
3/ Those despicable characters included Kari Lake, who TPUSA pushed through the GOP primary in 2022, along with Mark Finchem, resulting in the loss of the two top statewide offices, governor and Secretary of State, likely dragging down Hamadeh in the process (who made a misjudgment in a aligning with them) - all in a state where the GOP enjoys a sizable registration advantage plus right-leaning independents - meaning Arizona should be ruby red, like Florida, we just need competent candidates who can win statewide races. Along the way, they continued their slander of highly competent and well-respected GOP office holders/candidates, at the state and county level. It is a testament to the grit and determination of many of those folks that they were able to hold their ground and survive/win - otherwise, many more positions would have gone blue.
3/ In 2024, they again pushed Lake through the GOP primary, resulting in the loss of an easily winnable US Senate seat (especially given the Trump wave). They then took credit for Trump’s win in AZ when, in actuality, the biggest difference in 2024 is we enjoyed great leadership in Gina Swoboda - including the recognition that we need GOP candidates to win, in order to advance the GOP agenda (whereas TPUSA and their allies, more despicable characters like Jake Hoffman, were willing to tank good GOP candidates unwilling to go along with their grift) - and that the GOP, as it has historically done (and did), would prevail by encouraging early (mail) voting.
4/ Now, in 2025, despite having a capable candidate for governor that Trump has endorsed, Karrin Taylor Robson (who most knowledgeable GOP observers agree, will be a strong leader along the lines of Ducey, DeSantis and Youngkin), TPUSA once again is ready to sacrifice the welfare of the state (and the role Arizona could play in promoting key objectives of the Trump administration) by promoting the candidacy of Andy Biggs, one of the most despised politicians in Arizona outside his district (equally disliked during his tenure in the state legislature) - while also seeking to oust Swoboda (who, instead, we should all be thanking for her willingness to lead the mess that is currently the AZ GOP).
As the song goes, “when will we ever learn?” - I hope it is soon (and take heart that Trumpworld has apparently figured out at least some of what is happening here - and certainly prefers to win).
As long as "Turning Point" USA pretends to be relevant...missteps will happen. This is great news for Democrats who need rot from within the GOP to gain relevance. Oh well. Turning Point was a great album by John Mayall.
Most recently Kirk is threatening federal officials. "Do your job and listen to orders." It was retweeted by Paul Ingrassia, Trump’s White House Liaison for the Justice Department.
First time I heard about Turning Point some mealy guy, Charlie Kirk, had hired under aged kids to put out lies and misinformation on Hillary Clinton. They were working out of some basement somewhere. Creepy.
Politics really are ugly, aren’t they? And greed plays an oversized part in local politician’s antics.
Greed seems to be an important feature at the national level as well.
Excellently reported, folks! Thanks for making the cesspool of AZGOP politics a little more clear.
It’s so refreshing that these disputes are about policies! 😉
AZ Republican voters must be proud. You win and yet, it's still not good enough. #Greed

Ironic that the Rs take down Hobb's appointees for perceived conflict of interest. Rules apply to thee not me. Time to discontinue the gravy train.
